Red Shirt Riots
The following photos document the Red Shirt demonstrations in Bangkok, Thailand from March to June, 2010. The Red Shirts are supporters of the former Prime Minister, Thaksin Shinawatra, who was ousted during the 2008 military-supported coup. They were demonstrating for the immediate resignation of the Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and calling for a new election.
After April 10th, the demonstrations turned violent between the police and the Red Shirts. In retaliation, the Red Shirts occupied the business district, Ratchaprasong.
